Our last morning at Island School woke us up with the scent of warm french toast and sweet maple syrup.  Students are in their last rotation for outdoor science education programs, enjoying the sun shining and wearing fewer layers of sweaters.

 

 

 

 

 

Our third day at Island School was welcomed with the sun shining and birds chirping.  During the mini olympics students demonstrated cooperation, endurance and a good sense of humour while they competed for top points for their clan. 

 

 

 

 

Our second day at Island School was welcomed with a fresh blanket of snow and a gentle cold breeze. The chickadees were out this morning; and several students were about collecting sap to boil for a new batch of maple syrup.  Students are out in full force taking part in 'predator & prey' activities.

     

 

 

Our first day at Island School has been filled with rain and a chill in the air, but also wonderful learning of the science behind understanding the importance of protecting our environment.
