Congratulations on a great day today!  Students of Room 308 were true ambassadors of McMurrich as they participated in activities related to Asian Cultural Identifiers within Chinatown. A special thanks to our parent volunteers, we couldn't have done this without your support  :o)

What an amazing second week of building our community and learning from each other.

WRITING: we have been focussing on how to write an effective paragraph and co-constructed the success criteria to be used to 'bump up' our writing.  We are encouraging the use of a thesaurus to improve the use of various word choices in our writing.

MEDIA LITERACY: finalize your planning sheets so that you are prepared to discuss them on Friday.  We will be taking pictures next week, then creating our final poster using comic life.

MATH: complete math task from today's math period analyzing numbers and the value of different digits in a place value chart

GMAIL Accounts:  Parents please create a school gmail account for students to use for school purposes.  Use the provided gmail username, password and preferred name that was sent home.  Sign the media release at the back once it is return I will photocopy and return it so that all parents/guardians are aware of gmail account passwords.

MATH:  Observe your world around you and the math that surrounds each and everyone of us.  Complete the Entrance Pass- Math is Everywhere- Due Friday September 6


INDOOR SHOES:  students are reminded to bring in a second pair of shoes to leave at school (in their lockers) to wear during the instructional day.  This minimizes dirt on our classroom floor as we do sit on the floor often and to ensure safety in the gym during physical activities.

CLASS SUPPLIES/AGENDA:
All class supplies should be in by the beginning of next week:
*  4 Duo Tangs, 4 Two Pocket Folders, pencil crayons, sharpener, eraser, pencil case/box, lunch bag (with reusable containers), 1package of bond paper, 1 USB key

Agenda's were handed out today and will be used as a resource for students to keep track of school and class events and daily homework.  Agenda's are $5 and money should be submitted by Monday.
